Law “On the National Anticorruption Bureau” Adopted by Parliament

On October 10, 2014, Parliament adopted in second reading and in full the Law “On the National Anticorruption Bureau”, which set forth the operating principles for this pretrial investigation body, provided for guarantees of its independence and specialization, selection procedure for the National Anticorruption Bureau personnel, and peculiarities of appointment and removal of NABU Director. NABU’s subject-matter jurisdiction, as well as its rights during the exercise of its functions were also defined. On October 22, 2014, the Law was signed by the President.
