On September 30, 2016, amendments to the Constitution of Ukraine (concerning justice) went into effect. The new version of the Law “On the Judiciary and Status of Judges” also took effect at the same time as the constitutional amendments. Experts’ assessments of the changes that were adopted are mixed. They are seen as both allowing the preservation of the existing judicial system and having the potential to succeed.
