Draft Law on Corruption Prevention Introduced in Parliament

On September 30, 2014, the draft Law “On Corruption Prevention” introduced by the Cabinet of Ministers was registered. The draft law contains provisions concerning operations of the National Agency for Preventing Corruption; reporting and regulating conflict of interests; restrictions for public servants; and financial control mechanisms for public servants, including the scope of their property declarations and the procedures for their filing and publication. In addition, the draft Law provided for the mechanisms for development and implementation of state anticorruption policy and, in general terms, identified the mechanisms for control over anticorruption policy implementation. The draft law provided for carrying out corruption risk assessments in the government bodies, as well as anticorruption expert assessments of draft legislation and regulations.
