Draft Law on the 2018-2020 Anticorruption Strategy Introduced in Parliament
On April 26, 2018, the draft Law on the Anticorruption Strategy for 2018-2020 was introduced in Parliament by the Cabinet of Ministers. The draft law failed to address the majority of concerns expressed by the public and by domestic and international experts. All of the deficiencies that were presented in the draft Law prepared by the NAPC have remained. In light of this, on May 16, 2018, Parliament’s Committee on Preventing and Combatting Corruption decided to recommend that the Parliament, after reviewing the draft law in first reading, return it to the originating entity.
